Mr Mark Vassallo, Counsellor
Mark Vassallo is a mental health professional with over 23 years of experience in the field. A registered Psychiatric Nurse since 2012, he also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Malta. As a licensed counsellor, Mark adopts an eclectic and client-centred approach, tailoring his methods to meet the unique needs of each individual. He currently serves as TAASC’s Lead on Intervention, guiding the development and delivery of therapeutic services.
Mark works within the Dementia Intervention Team as a community practice nurse, where he played a key role in introducing counselling support for caregivers—an initiative that evolved into a dedicated Well-being Clinic. His professional journey has included training placements at Millennium Chapel and Caritas, enriching his experience in providing compassionate and holistic mental health care.
A committed advocate for the profession, Mark is an active member of the Malta Association of Psychiatric Nurses (MAPN), having served as treasurer (2014–2016) and secretary since 2016.
Beyond his clinical and leadership roles, Mark enjoys travelling, scuba diving, and fishing, finding balance and inspiration in exploring the natural world.
